VIDEO STORIES

Through solo projects (when I capture video and edit alone) to team efforts (when I take a director's role) I've worked with video for web for nearly 20 years.

In 2022, Campfire Productions put together a crew from the U.S., UK and New Zealand to film a series of videos in Ghana for the U.S. peanut industry. The stories focused on research with school kids, economics of peanut production and supplementary food to prepare kids for cleft palate surgery.

NARRATIVES

Over three decades, I've written thousands of articles. Some required weeks of research and in-depth interviews, while others were hastily written updates for the web.

While writing about science and agriculture around the world, I also continued to freelance in my community of Athens, Ga., often covering stories with a long history.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Photographing farmers and researchers around the world, my portraits capture a bit about who they are and whaat they do as I strive to tell a story with images just as I do with words.

WEBSITES & LEARNING PLATFORMS

Through the Peanut Innovation Lab and with private clients, I created and maintain various websites and an interactive learning platform called the Groundnut Academy.

Hundreds of learners around the world have registered for the Groundnut Academy and completed courses. Covering basic information about peanut production and food safety, the courses are available in multiple languages.

GRAPHICS

Using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as Canva, I create and adapt unique graphics to relay information to a wide audience - from highly educated scientists to low-literacy smallholder farmers in remote areas.

Created by a student artist in 2015, this graphic has been updated and translated into 20 languages. It hangs in university offices and farmers' sheds across Africa.
